INSPIRE is the word which gave me the vision for all that Inspire Bahrain has become, so full of power and creativity, inspiring and empowering others came to be the main focus of my work.

The word “inspire” has many meanings but if you go back to it’s root which is in the Latin “inspirare”, it means “to breathe into or upon”, and we believe that through Inspire will breath creativity into every facet of community life.

In = into/on spirare = to breathe

To inspire is to make someone want to do something; to give someone an idea about what to do or create; to cause something to happen or be created; to cause someone to have a feeling or emotion; to influence, move, or guide by divine or supernatural inspiration; to exert an animating, enlivening, or exalting influence on; to spur on, impel, motivate; to breathe or blow into or upon; to infuse (as life) by breathing; to communicate to an agent supernaturally. I love the image of God inspiring us.

The Holy Spirit is described as the "breath of God" and therefore to ask for a daily infilling of the Holy Spirit is to ask for God's daily inspiration in your life.  God gave me this direction and put it into my heart to unite the churches by glorifying Him through music and the arts. This is in part what we are doing with the Inspire Festival. Just as Paul wrote in 1Corinthians 9:22 we must be “all things to all people”, and therefore the Inspire Festival is for everyone. Although supported by the church the Inspire Festival is a community festival providing the opportunity for an amazing coming together of the artistic genres of music, fine art, sculpture, photography, multimedia, poetry and dance through a diverse cultural mix of African Gospel singing, a Malayalam choir, multi-national singers and musicians, traditional Western band line ups, local artists, visiting speakers, guest artists and workshop leaders from a variety of backgrounds.  Inspire is about unity transcending culture and belief, inspiring nations and generations.  In every way the Inspire Festival 2014 was the first events of its kind in Bahrain and we aim to make Inspire Festival 2016 even more exciting if that's possible.

Watch this space to find out more as we work together to plan this event. Let's see what God has for us!!
